As you strive for excellence in your training, coaching, or development practice the MBTI® Master Practitioner Credential Program makes it simple (if not easy) to demonstrate your exemplary expertise in your field. Becoming MBTI® Certified opened the door for you to develop your mastery of the MBTI® assessment in all its forms and applications. Becoming an MBTI Master Practitioner will deepen your knowledge of the assessment as it broadens the sphere of available applications to which you can apply it. There is a great variety of topics for you to choose from:
- deeper understanding of assessment construction and research;
Myers-Briggs certified practitioners now have the ability to become “Master Practitioners” by registering for and completing the Master Practitioner Credential Program. Some details about this program are:
- The program will continue to be managed by CAPT.
- The designation Master Practitioner will be granted only upon completion of credential requirements (see below.)
- If someone is in the second or third term of the current certification program, he/she will be grandfathered in as a Master Practitioner. If someone is in the first term, there will be some minimal requirements to be met.
- Once the designation is earned, there is no need for renewal.
- Only those who have achieved this status will have the ability to participate in CPP’s Network Referral program.
- Only Master Practitioners can offer accredited courses that count for credit hours for becoming a Master Practitioner.
Application Requirements: Successful completion of an approved MBTI® Form M-based program (prior to Jan. 2009) or an MBTI® Certification Program (after Jan. 2009).
Credential Requirements: To earn the Master Practitioner Credential, applicants must have completed and have documented:
- 40 hours of continuing education (1 CE = 1 hr of training) in approved classes and workshops. Only approved programs completed after acceptance into the MP credential program will be accepted.
- 40 hours of practical application of the instrument in training workshops and individual development engagements.
So far programs have been approved by trainers such as Jean Kummerow, Roger Pearman, and Katherine and Elizabeth Hirsh. Available topics range from “Step II and Teams” to “Using Type in Coaching” to “Type Challenges Across the Generations”. No matter how you want to build your expertise and your practice this program offers a way to get the training you need to succeed and stand out from the crowd.
